VITAS Home Health Aides provide personal care and services to hospice patients to augment family care. Their duties include performing personal care, preparing meals, assisting with ambulation and treatments, and monitoring patient health. Employees are trained to handle a wide range of tasks and reports any changes in patient condition.
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Documented evidence of 75 hours of training as specified in 42 C.F.R. Sections 484.36 and Section 484.36(a)(1)
- State Allowable Training/Certification (AL, CO, DC, DE, FL, GA, IN, MI, PA, TX, VA, WI, CA, CHHA, CT, Homemaker-Home Health Aide)
- Ability to read, write, and carry out directions
- Must be able to lift objects over 20 pounds
- Ability to travel per job requirements
