Home Health Aide (HHA)

VITAS Home Health Aides provide personal care and services to hospice patients, augmenting care provided by family members. These include activities like personal hygiene, meal preparation, ambulation assistance, treatments (such as colonostomy care), and reporting changes in the patient's condition to the VITAS nurse. The role requires documentation of hours of training and experience.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Meeting personnel qualifications of a Home Health Aide as specified in 42 C.F.R. Section 484.4 and Section 484.36.
• Documented evidence of 75 hours of training as specified in 42 C.F.R. Sections 484.36 (a)(1).
• State Allowable Training/Certification (AL, CO, DC, DE, FL, GA, IN, MI, PA, TX, VA, WI).
