The licensed practical nurse (LPN/LVN) provides direct skilled bedside nursing care to terminally ill patients in the VITAS program. Responsibilities include administering treatments and medications, monitoring patient needs, documenting care, and collaborating with the team. This role emphasizes patient comfort, family participation, and professional growth.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved school of Practical/Vocational nursing.
- Currently licensed to practice nursing in the state where the VITAS program is located.
- At least one year of satisfactory nursing experience, at least one year as an LPN/LVN in a hospital on an adult medical surgical unit.
- Ability to lift and transfer patients.
