The licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) administers nursing care to terminally ill patients in a VITAS program, in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act. This role involves providing direct bedside nursing care, performing necessary treatments and medications, monitoring patient responses, and maintaining a safe environment. The nurse is responsible for evaluation, documentation, team collaboration, and patient engagement.
Requirements
- Must have and maintain transportation.
- Graduate of an approved school of Practical/Vocational nursing.
- Currently licensed to practice nursing in the state where the VITAS program is located.
- At least one year of satisfactory nursing experience, at least one year an LPN/LVN in a hospital on an adult medical surgical unit.
- Flexible schedule including weekends or rotating shifts, may need to work on weekends or with rotating shifts
