Health & Safety Coordinator

Join Walker as a Health & Safety Coordinator and contribute to a team that prioritizes health and safety. As a key partner in driving safety excellence, you will support the implementation and ongoing improvement of our Safety Management System (SMS) and work closely with site teams, supervisors, and Joint Health & Safety Committees (JHSCs) to ensure compliance, lead by example in the field, and help foster a strong, proactive safety culture.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of aggregate or construction health & safety experience
• Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety (college diploma or university degree)
• CRSP designation (or working toward it) is considered an asset
• Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle (required for travel between sites)
• Solid understanding of health and safety legislation and industry best practices
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills—you’re comfortable working with crews, supervisors, and committees
• Ability to conduct inspections and support incident investigations in active work environments
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail for accurate reporting and documentation
• Comfortable using safety management systems such as eCompliance
