The Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner will provide direct patient care to patients in the emergency department at one of our community site locations, including Christian Hospital, Northwest Healthcare, Barnes-Jewish St. Peter’s Hospital and Progress West Hospital. The role includes variable work schedule which includes day, night, and weekend shifts.
Requirements
- Provides direct patient care to include obtaining patient history, performing patient assessment via observation, interview and examination;
- Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies;
- Develops and implements patient-centered plan of care in collaboration with physicians, patients, consultants, nurses, ancillary care providers and others as appropriate to the patient's condition;
- Manages health conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources;
- May perform diagnostic or therapeutic interventions consistent with certification and state regulations;
- Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients/families in accordance with established clinic/hospital standards;
- Monitors/ensures accuracy of patient medical records;
- Maintains all required reports, records, statistics, etc.;
- Participates in quality improvement and process improvement activities centered on the goal of providing exceptional, evidence-based patient care;
