Nurse Practitioner (Part Time) - Emergency Medicine (Community)

The Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner will provide direct patient care to patients in the emergency department at one of our community site locations, including Christian Hospital, Northwest Healthcare, Barnes-Jewish St. Peter’s Hospital and Progress West Hospital. The role includes variable work schedule which includes day, night, and weekend shifts.

Requirements

• Provides direct patient care to include obtaining patient history, performing patient assessment via observation, interview and examination;
• Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies;
• Develops and implements patient-centered plan of care in collaboration with physicians, patients, consultants, nurses, ancillary care providers and others as appropriate to the patient's condition;
• Manages health conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources;
• May perform diagnostic or therapeutic interventions consistent with certification and state regulations;
• Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients/families in accordance with established clinic/hospital standards;
• Monitors/ensures accuracy of patient medical records;
• Maintains all required reports, records, statistics, etc.;
• Participates in quality improvement and process improvement activities centered on the goal of providing exceptional, evidence-based patient care;
