Deckhand

This position seeks Deckhands to assist in loading and discharging cargo at ports. Deckhands will be responsible for preparing barges for transport, performing various tasks including housekeeping, maintenance, and vessel and barge safety. The role involves working outdoors in varied weather conditions, performing physically demanding tasks, and adhering to strict safety regulations.

Requirements

• Assist in preparing barges for loading and discharging cargo at ports.
• Build and break tow by using lines, wires, ratchets and stationary winches.
• Perform standard housekeeping duties.
• Perform painting, chipping, and transferring rigging.
• Perform vessel and barge maintenance.
• Assist in making bridges and locks.
• Lift or move heavy and awkward objects.
