Deckhand

This Deckhand position involves the general maintenance and running of a boat, assisting with vessel cleaning, navigation, and emergency response. It requires physical strength, ability to lift heavy objects, and adherence to strict safety regulations. Deckhands assist in loading and discharging cargo at ports, performing vessel maintenance, and performing other duties as directed by the Captain.

Requirements

• Assist others on the vessel in preparing barges for loading and discharging.
• Build and break tow using lines, wires, ratchets, and stationary winches.
• Perform standard housekeeping duties, painting, chipping, and transferring rigging.
• Perform various vessel and barge maintenance tasks.
• Be capable of lifting or moving heavy objects.
• Wepfer Marine, Inc. policies, procedures, safety rules and regulations must be followed.
• Must pass pre-employment screening.
• Experienced with Wepfer Marine, Inc. policies, procedures, and regulations.
