Mechanical Sourcing Engineer

Mechanical Sourcing Engineer identifies, evaluates, and manages suppliers to procure cost-effective, high-quality mechanical components and materials for product development, ensuring they meet technical specifications and quality standards. Key responsibilities include performing market research, negotiating contracts, building strong supplier partnerships, and collaborating with internal engineering, operations, and quality teams to optimize the supply chain and mitigate risks.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering
• 8+ years’ experience
• In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, material specifications, and technical drawings
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Proficient in analyzing bids, comparing supplier capabilities, and evaluating specifications
• Systematic approach to problem-solving and understanding complex processes
• Building and maintaining long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers
• Software proficiency: strong experience with CAD software and Microsoft office, and ERP system experience preferred
• Previous experience in a procurement or technical purchasing role and Project management capabilities is preferred
