Server (Heirloom Restaurant)/Seasonal Employment

The Heirloom Restaurant is a formal dining restaurant located in the historic Athenaeum Hotel, featuring a lakeside comfort dining room. The restaurant is open every day during the nine-week summer season, and on Thursdays to Sundays during the pre-season and post-season. Compensation is $10.70/hour plus tipped earnings, with a minimum wage of $16.00/hour for non-tipped work.

Requirements

• Set and reset section tables according to restaurant standards
• Have a thorough knowledge of both the food and beverage menus, specials, and ability to up-sell
• Have excellent interpersonal communication skills and good command of appropriate hospitality language
• Accurately take guest orders and transfer to the POS system
• Have an understanding of service times and assist with delivery of orders
• Know and execute proper wine service
• Know and execute heirlooms table service procedures
• Have a basic understanding of the athenaeum hotel's history and activities and services within Chautauqua Institution
• Perform server check-out report shift activities
