Job Description
The Department of Social Services (DSS) is hiring a Supervising Special Officer I to function as the Sergeant for the Office of Police Operations (OPO) in the division of Security Services. The Sergeant will be responsible for ensuring the physical safety of staff and customers at an assigned HRA location and overseeing the performance of contract guards.
Requirements
- Four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a state's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization
- One year of full-time satisfactory experience in the field of law enforcement, protection or security
- Ability to serve as a Peace Officer and satisfy the training requirements established by the State of New York for Peace Officers and obtain certification
- Ability to work in a supervisory capacity and provide guidance to contract guards
