Job Description
Coastal Villages Longline, a subsidiary of Coastal Villages Region Fund, is seeking a Captain to operate one of their freezer longliners. This role requires navigating the vessel, supervising a crew, and ensuring safety and compliance with maritime laws. Applicants must have current USCG License with STCW endorsements and experience as a captain in Bering Sea fisheries or commercial fishing.
Requirements
- Current USCG License with STCW endorsements
- Experience as Captain on a Freezer Longliner
- Minimum of three years experience as deckhand, bosun, or mate
- Minimum of three years as a captain on another Bering Sea commercial vessel
- Must pass basic & advanced fire fighting, HAZWOPER, medical care provider and other required courses
- Maintain a safe and clean working and living environment
- Must be able to work in a hazardous environment, 12-16 hour shifts, and variable schedules
- Experience with economic and vessel management
