Coastal Villages Region Fund is a nonprofit organization that owns and operates fishing vessels in the Bering Sea, harvesting pollock, crab, and cod to support the economic and social well‑being of 20 coastal communities in Alaska. Through commercial fishing, seafood processing, and community development programs, CVRF creates jobs, promotes sustainable resource management, and delivers infrastructure and services that enhance the quality of life for residents across a 30,000‑square‑mile region.

Longline Processor
Basic math skills and reading comprehension are needed. Able to work in stressful environments and perform physical tasks with high physical capabilities are required. Medical clearance for respirator use may be needed
Longline Deckhand
Requires Crane Operator Certification & AB License, 2+ yrs deckhand experience, basic math skills & strong English reading/writing abilities
Longline Chief Engineer
5+ years experience as a Chief Engineer/Assistant Engineer. Must have current USCG license. Knowledge of oil spill response & HAZWOPER training. Ability to manage teams and operate a vessel
Longline Assistant Engineer
USCG license (preferred), basic math skills, ability to read and write in English. Must be able to operate machinery, lift, and work in a hazardous environment
Longline Mate
USCG license, STCW endorsements, mariner certificate, and maritime knowledge required. Two years or more experience on commercial fishing vessels. Basic math & communication skills needed
On-call Mechanic/Welder
High school diploma or GED; welding and fabrication experience a plus. Must be able to lift 50lbs. Pass security and background checks
Part-time Service Writer
High school degree required. Basic computer skills and organizational skills needed. Customer service and communication abilities are essential
Longline Captain
Must have USCG license & STCW endorsements. 3-5 years of relevant experience as a captain on a Bering Sea longliner is needed. Basic math, reading/writing skills and ability to work physically. Medical Clearance for respirator is required
Longline Chief Steward
ServSafe Food Manager certification required. 2+ years kitchen management experience and 2+ years experience as a galley staff on a commercial fishing vessel are expected. Must be able to pass basic math and read. Physical strength and ability to work in harsh conditions required
