PRODUCE MANAGER

The Produce Manager is responsible for achieving desired gross profit, productivity, and sales projections, while ensuring a clean and organized work environment. The role involves ordering product, receiving and unloading deliveries, and managing personnel.

Requirements

• Achieves desired gross profit
• Achieves desired level of productivity
• Projects sales, product movement, labor needs
• Orders product according to established guidelines
• Receives and unloads truck deliveries using available equipment and according to established guidelines
• Establishes daily work assignments and priorities for produce department personnel
• Follows established guidelines in all personnel issues, interviewing, hiring, training, performance evaluation, discipline, discharge, etc.
• Follows established guidelines for completion of all required forms, records, reports and verify receipts
• Prepares weekly work schedules according to established guidelines
• Stocks and straightens merchandise and supplies
• Using pricing/label gun, marks each item with the correct selling price
• Rotates merchandise according to anticipated shelf life/product expiration dates
• Performs basic housekeeping duties using available equipment, (mops, brooms, floor scrubbing and buffing machines, etc.)
• Operates all required tools and equipment in a safe manner except when restricted due to age
• Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds
• Ensure coolers and cases maintain appropriate temperatures
• Ability to work in temperature extremes, (produce cooler maximum low temperature, 32 degrees)
• Standing and/or walking at a rapid pace for extended periods of time to perform essential job functions
• Maintains a neat and clean work area
• Performs all essential job functions at an acceptable level of speed and accuracy
• Ability to lift and move items weighing over 50 pounds
• Follows dress code
• Follows written and oral instructions
• Follows established safety policies and procedures
• Works well with others
• Speak English fluently
• Ability to legibly write or print
• Eyesight corrected to 20/20
• Hearing corrected to normal range
• Possess full range of motion on shoulders, arms, hands, legs and feet
