The Produce Manager is responsible for achieving desired gross profit, productivity, and sales projections. They must order product, receive and unload truck deliveries, and establish work assignments for department personnel. The Produce Manager must also follow established guidelines for personnel issues, record-keeping, and safety procedures.

- Establishes daily work assignments and priorities for produce department personnel
- Follows established guidelines in all personnel issues
- Follows established guidelines for completion of all required forms, records, reports and verify receipts
- Prepares weekly work schedules according to established guidelines
- Stocks and straightens merchandise and supplies
- Using pricing/label gun, marks each item with the correct selling price
- Rotates merchandise according to anticipated shelf life/product expiration dates
- Performs basic housekeeping duties using available equipment
- Operates all required tools and equipment in a safe manner
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ensure coolers and cases maintain appropriate temperatures
- Ability to work in temperature extremes
- Standing and/or walking at a rapid pace for extended periods of time
- Maintains a neat and clean work area
- Performs all essential job functions at an acceptable level of speed and accuracy
- Ability to lift and move items weighing over 50 pounds
