The Produce Manager is responsible for achieving desired gross profit and productivity, ordering product, and managing personnel in the produce department.

- Orders product according to established guidelines
- Receives and unloads truck deliveries using available equipment and according to established guidelines
- Establishes daily work assignments and priorities for produce department personnel
- Follows established guidelines in all personnel issues, interviewing, hiring, training, performance evaluation, discipline, discharge, etc.
- Follows established guidelines for completion of all required forms, records, reports and verify receipts
- Prepares weekly work schedules according to established guidelines
- Stocks and straightens merchandise and supplies
- Using pricing/label gun, marks each item with the correct selling price
- Rotates merchandise according to anticipated shelf life/product expiration dates
- Performs basic housekeeping duties using available equipment, (mops, brooms, floor scrubbing and buffing machines, etc.).
- Operates all required tools and equipment in a safe manner except when restricted due to age.
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ensure coolers and cases maintain appropriate temperatures
- Ability to work in temperature extremes, (produce cooler maximum low temperature, 32 degrees).
- Standing and/or walking at a rapid pace for extended periods of time to perform essential job functions.
