The Produce Manager is responsible for achieving desired gross profit, productivity, and sales projections, as well as managing daily work assignments and priorities for produce department personnel. They also ensure coolers and cases maintain appropriate temperatures and perform various tasks such as receiving and unloading truck deliveries, ordering product, and stocking merchandise.

- Receives and unloads truck deliveries using available equipment and according to established guidelines
- Establishes daily work assignments and priorities for produce department personnel
- Follows established guidelines in all personnel issues, interviewing, hiring, training, performance evaluation, discipline, discharge, etc.
- Follows established guidelines for completion of all required forms, records, reports and verify receipts
- Prepares weekly work schedules according to established guidelines
- Stocks and straightens merchandise and supplies
- Using pricing/label gun, marks each item with the correct selling price
- Rotates merchandise according to anticipated shelf life/product expiration dates
- Performs basic housekeeping duties using available equipment
- Operates all required tools and equipment in a safe manner except when restricted due to age
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ensure coolers and cases maintain appropriate temperatures
- Ability to work in temperature extremes
- Standing and/or walking at a rapid pace for extended periods of time to perform essential job functions
