Assistant Chief Engineer

Role Overview

The Assistant Chief Engineer is a key member of the Facilities team at JLL, a leading global commercial real estate and investment management company. The role supports the Chief Engineer by leading the engineering teams day-to-day directives, third-party contracts, delegation of building operations, maintenance, and engineering services to ensure optimal performance and safety of all facility systems.

What You Will Do

Assist the Chief Engineer in managing daily operations of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire/life safety systems. Supervise and coordinate the operation engineering staff and contractors to ensure timely and effective completion of work orders and preventive maintenance responsibilities.

This role requires strong technical expertise in at least one craft area (Electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, or Central Utility Plant Operations) with multi-skilled capabilities in other areas. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in commercial building operations, facility maintenance, or as a lead Operating Engineer.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 5+ years in commercial building operations, facility maintenance, or as a lead Operating Engineer
• Proficiency in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
• Experience managing building automation systems
• Valid state driver's license
• Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders up to 30 ft., work from heights, and perform frequent walking, bending, kneeling, and overhead work
