The Controls & Assurance Lead – L1 Risk drives risk maturity, control effectiveness, and process improvement across the personal and motor lending value chain.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Risk Management, or related discipline (mandatory)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in operational risk, compliance, or audit within financial services, preferably consumer lending products
- Demonstrated experience leading operational improvement or transformation programs
- Extensive experience within a regulated environment, ideally under ASIC, and other regulatory requirements relevant to consumer finance / financial services across Australia and New Zealand
- Proven expertise in process improvement methodologies
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement robust operational controls that enhance efficiency and reduce risk
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using data and metrics to drive business decisions
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on, delivery-oriented approach
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across all levels of the organisation
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive alignment on complex issues
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate operational insights into actionable business strategies
