Job Description
We are seeking a 1.0 FTE Nurse Practitioner to join our team in a community-based, non-profit organization. The Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive primary health care services, working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to deliver mobile outreach and clinic-based services in community settings.
Requirements
- BScN from a recognized university
- Current Certificate of Registration as a Nurse Practitioner (Extended Class) with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Demonstrated proficiency in comprehensive nursing assessment, physical examination, diagnostic reasoning, and treatment within the RN(EC) scope of practice
- Ability to utilize technology to support virtual care, education, and team collaboration
- Experience supporting individuals living with mental health and addiction challenges
- Strong awareness of and sensitivity to socio-economic, cultural, and systemic barriers impacting health
- Demonstrated understanding of health equity and experience working with populations who face barriers to care
- Commitment to community-based, client-centred primary health care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary team
- Flexibility in scheduling and ability to work across multiple community sites
- Awareness of northern and rural health care needs
- Valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, and ability to travel between service locations
