CMP Process Engineer

Role Overview

As a CMP Process Engineer at STMicroelectronics, you will support manufacturing lines, conduct real-time problem analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions. You will collaborate with technology development and device engineers to develop or transfer new processes, and participate in cross-functional teams to improve quality, cycle time, and cost.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include conducting real-time problem analysis, implementing corrective and preventive actions, process set-up and optimization, equipment management, and cross-functional activities and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronics engineering, materials science engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or mechatronics engineering
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in the semiconductor industry with a background in chemical mechanical planarization (CMP) processes
• Familiarity with CMP equipment such as AMAT MirraMesa or EBARA tools, related consumables, and slurry characteristics
• Excellent statistical thinking and creative problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
• Self-driven, adaptable, and able to manage multiple projects
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams
• Strong interest to use or adopt artificial intelligence (AI) to optimize workflows
