Does Indeed, LinkedIn or Glassdoor have a jobs API? (2026)
Table of contents
As of November 2026, Indeed, LinkedIn and Glassdoor do not offer a public API that lets developers search or download their job listings. What they do offer are partner APIs that run the other way: approved applicant tracking systems (ATSs) and job distributors use them to post jobs to Indeed and LinkedIn, and Glassdoor offers no public developer API we could find.
If you need job postings as data, the practical route is to read jobs where employers publish them first: their own career pages and ATSs.
The short version
| Platform | Public API to read listings? | What exists | Who can use it | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Indeed | No | Job Sync API, Job Update API, Disposition Sync API, Indeed Apply (send jobs and application data to Indeed); Publisher JavaScript Plugin (shows Indeed jobs on your site) | Approved Indeed partners (ATSs, employers, agencies); publishers for the plugin | docs.indeed.com/job-postings |
| No | Job Posting API (post jobs to LinkedIn), Apply Connect | Approved LinkedIn Talent Solutions partners; not accepting new Job Posting API partners | learn.microsoft.com | |
| Glassdoor | No | No public developer program we could find | — | Our check, November 2026 |
Indeed
Indeed's developer documentation lists its job APIs under "Job postings": the Job Sync API for ATS partners and direct employers, the Job Update API for agencies, and the Publisher JavaScript Plugin. Around them sit the Disposition Sync API (an ATS tells Indeed what happened to each application) and Indeed Apply.
All of them move data into Indeed. The Job Sync API, for example, is a GraphQL API that ATS partners use to create, update and expire postings on Indeed. Access needs a partner request and a signed Developer Agreement.
The Publisher JavaScript Plugin is the closest thing to a "read" product, and it isn't one. It renders Indeed job search on a publisher's site with front-end changes only, and Indeed pays per click up to a monthly cap. You don't get the listings back as data you can store or analyze.
You will still find GitHub and npm wrappers for an older Indeed "Publisher" job search API that took a publisher ID and returned results as XML or JSON. That API isn't in Indeed's current documentation, so don't build on those wrappers.
LinkedIn's Job Posting API "enables authorized third parties such as clients, ATS systems, and job distributors to post jobs directly to LinkedIn on behalf of customers," according to its documentation on Microsoft Learn. The same page says use "is restricted to those developers approved by LinkedIn," requires a signed API agreement, and that LinkedIn is "currently not accepting new partnerships" for the Job Posting API. It points applicants to Apply Connect instead.
None of LinkedIn's Talent Solutions APIs give you a job search over LinkedIn's listings. The "LinkedIn jobs API" products that rank in search are third-party scrapers, not LinkedIn.
Glassdoor
Glassdoor belongs to Recruit Holdings, the same parent company as Indeed. Recruit bought it in 2018 to run alongside Indeed in its HR Technology segment. Glassdoor used to run a partner API for jobs, company ratings and salaries. We found no current Glassdoor developer program that issues keys, either for job listings or for reviews and salary data.
Can I scrape them?
Their terms say no. Indeed's Terms of Service prohibit using bots, scrapers, spiders or other automated systems to access or data-mine the site without Indeed's express written permission. LinkedIn's User Agreement (section 8.2) prohibits software, scripts or robots used "to scrape or copy the Services," and the use of bots or other unauthorized automated methods to access them. This isn't legal advice, and how courts treat these clauses is beyond the scope of this post. In practice, scrapers also break whenever the page layout or anti-bot defenses change, and you get each board's reposts and duplicates along with the jobs.
Where the jobs come from in the first place
Job boards are mostly redistributors. Indeed says it pulls jobs from employers' career sites and ATSs in addition to jobs posted on Indeed directly. LinkedIn's Job Posting API exists so that ATSs can push jobs onto LinkedIn. For many roles the original posting is on the employer's own careers page or ATS (Greenhouse, Lever, Workday and so on), and the board listing is a copy.
Reading those sources directly gets you the same roles, often before the boards pick them up. You also skip the reposts that agencies and aggregators add on top.
That is what Hirebase does. Hirebase is a job postings data API built from company career pages and 80+ ATS platforms, including Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday, iCIMS and Taleo. It does not scrape Indeed or LinkedIn, and it deliberately doesn't index jobs that exist only on job boards. In numbers:
- 300K+ company career pages scanned, in 140+ countries; nearly 4M active jobs from about 230K employers
- 50+ structured fields per job
- New jobs live within 1–2 hours of posting; closed jobs removed from the active index every hour
- A historical archive of about 29M expired jobs since 2023
- REST API, Python SDK, and bulk export (CSV, JSON Lines)
A search request looks like this:
curl -X POST "https://api.hirebase.org/v2/jobs/search" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-H "x-api-key: YOUR_API_KEY" \
-d '{
"job_titles": ["Software Engineer"],
"keywords": ["Python"],
"location_types": ["Remote"],
"limit": 10
}'
The response returns matching jobs along with total_count. See the search endpoint reference for every filter.

Other honest options
- Adzuna API: a job search engine API with good UK and European coverage and historical salary series. The key is free for personal, academic and publishing use, but commercial use needs a licence with unpublished prices. Descriptions are snippets, and attribution is required.
- JSearch (OpenWeb Ninja): live search over Google for Jobs, which surfaces LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor and other boards. It's cheap per result (200 free requests a month, then $25 for 10,000 requests) and covers board-only roles. It isn't a dataset: you get about 500 results per query, no history, and aggregator reposts in the results.

FAQ
Is the Indeed Publisher API still available? No job search API from Indeed appears in its current developer documentation. What remains under the Publisher name is a JavaScript plugin that shows Indeed jobs on your site, and it doesn't return listings as data. Indeed's other APIs are for partners sending jobs and application data to Indeed.
Does LinkedIn have a free jobs API? No. LinkedIn's Job Posting API is for approved partners to post jobs to LinkedIn, not to read them, and LinkedIn says it isn't accepting new partners for it. LinkedIn has no public or free API for searching its job listings.
Is there an API for Glassdoor reviews or salaries? Not one you can sign up for. We found no current Glassdoor developer program that issues keys for reviews, salaries or jobs.
Can I get Indeed or LinkedIn job data legally without scraping? Not from Indeed or LinkedIn themselves. You can get the same underlying jobs from the employers' own career pages and ATSs, either by building that collection yourself or through an API that already does it.
What's the cheapest way to get Indeed-like job data? For a small project, a free tier: Hirebase's Free plan includes 500 jobs a month, and JSearch includes 200 requests a month. For ongoing volume, compare the price per 1,000 jobs. On Hirebase that's about $3.96 on Starter, about $1.00 on Growth and about $0.50 on Scale.
Try it: Create a free Hirebase account. You get 500 jobs a month, no credit card, and an API key to run the request above.
